Description of Research

Current imaging technologies, such as atomic force microscopy, are capable of assessing the large proportion of the proteome that interacts at the cell membrane, whereas scanning confocal microscopy allows the assessment of internal phenomena. We are utilizing these complimentary tools to characterize the glucose transport system in Escherichia coli.
